Be aware that we intend to closely monitor wind conditions and may shorten the race at any mark of the course.

Registration:
Pre-registration forms and entry fee must be received no later than Tuesday, February 9. Enrty form. A check-in desk will be open from 1600 - 2200 Friday, and will accept late registrations at that time. All skippers must check in and receive final sailing instructions.
Race Fee:
$25 pre registered, recieved by Tuesday, February 9.
$27 on line registration, through Wednesday, February 10.
$30 late registration, in person Friday night
Course:
Start between the Race Committee Boat and the east marker of the Olympia Shoal in a northerly direction. Proceed leaving Dofflemeyer Point and Johnson Point to starboard; then the government buoy #3 off Nisqually Delta, the Toliva Shoal buoy, Eagle Island, the government buoy at the West End of Balch Passage, Johnson Point, and Dofflemeyer Point to port. Finish in a southerly direction between the Race Committee Boat and the east marker of the Olympia Shoal.
Committee Boats:
The Start/Finish boat, the mark boat, or the chase boat may be used to shorten the course.
Protests:
Protests must be in writing. Protests must be received or postmarked by before midnight on Tuesday following the Toliva Shoal Race. They can be delivered to the RC, mailed to P. O Box 1102 Olympia Wa. 98507, or e-mailed to protests@ssssclub.com.
Awards:
Toliva Shoals Race awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each class, subject to class participation, plus perpetual trophies for first-to-finish and overall corrected PHRF.
Results:
Preliminary results will be posted as soon as possible at the Olympia Yacht Club and on the Southern Sound Series web site.
Communications:
The Race Committee Boats will monitor VHF channel 72 throughout the race. All yachts retiring from the race must notify the Race Committee, preferably by radio (VHF channel 72) or by telephone, (360) 239-8706 or (360) 789-3846. Such notification shall be as soon as possible after retiring.
Calls to the Race Committee, other than withdrawals or emergencies, will be terminated immediately.
Safety:
We encourage you and your crew to wear appropriate safety gear, such as personal flotation and harnesses, for heavy weather or night sailing.
Welcome Party and Supper:
Our race weekend starts on Friday afternoon with a party for skippers and crews at the OYC Clubhouse.
Free Beer, Wine and pop will be served from 1600 to 2200.
Dinner will be served from 1800 to 2100. $ 10
Breakfast:
Saturday breakfast will be served at the OYC Clubhouse from 0700 to 0830. $ 5
Moorage:
Free, no shore power, moorage/rafting is available at the east side of Percival Landing or at the Olympia Yacht Club guest dock Friday and Saturday nights. Please comply with any directions from the dock hosts regarding tie-ups.

Launching: There is a good ramp and sling at Swantown Marina. Call (360) 528-8095, or VHF 65 to make an appointment.
Zittels Marina, on Johnson Point, has a sling; call (360) 459-1950.
Security:
We will have a security watch through the night on Friday, courtesy of the Sea Scouts, to allow access to the OYC docks at all hours. Please check at the clubhouse if the gate is closed do not disturb the OYC caretakers.
Parking:
Two parking lots are made available to us for the race. See the parking map. The Diamond Lot requires a permit which will be provided free of charge at the registration desk. The OYC lot is open until 2300 hours on Friday and all day Saturday.
There is also limited public parking near Percival Landing.
Please do not park at Bayview Thriftway they will tow your car!!
