Join us for this fun event that will take the fleet from Gig Harbor to a temporary mark north of Blake Island before returning to Gig Harbor. This is the final race of the Southern Sound Series.

Friday, March 19        Late registration of $35 will be taken at Gig Harbor Yacht Club from 5:00 -7:00 p.m.  
Saturday, March 20:	0925   First Signal for Cruising Class  
 			0955   First signal for classes A-H 
			Post race party at GHYC

Registration:
Pre-registration is required for all entrants. Entry forms must be received no later than March 16. Late registration may be made in person at the GHYC Clubhouse between 1600-1900 Friday, March 19.
The GHYC Clubhouse and bar will be open on Friday, March 19th at 1700.
Race fee: $30 : Entry form
Late Registration Fee: $35

Starting Line:
Start in northeasterly direction between the race committee boat and an orange triangle racing buoy anchored 1/4 mile east of the mouth of Gig Harbor.

The Course:
From the starting line, proceed in a northeasterly direction through Colvos Passage around the EAST side of Blake Island to an orange triangle racing buoy anchored 1000 yards north of Blake Island. Leave the Buoy to PORT and proceed EAST of Blake Island, south through Colvos Passage and finish in a southwesterly direction across the (starting) finish line.

Important Note:
There may be an orange triangle racing buoy (limiting mark) anchored within 200 yards of the ferry terminal at Southworth. NO BOATS MAY PASS BETWEEN THIS LIMITING MARK AND THE FERRY TERMINAL. Boats transiting these areas will be disqualified.

Withdrawals

Protests:
MUST be delivered IN PERSON to Race Chair Terry James/John McPhail prior to 2 hours after the finish of the last yacht or the expiration of the time limit. Please notify the race committee of your intent to protest upon crossing the finish line.

Awards:
GHYC will present awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place boats in each class. In addition, GHYC will award a perpetual trophy, the Ringgold Cup, to the first boat in any class which wins by the greatest corrected time margin over the second boat in that class.

Post Race Party:
Once again, we will be offering a post-race party at the GHYC clubhouse featuring FREE food, no host bar, and videos of the racing. Results will be up-to-the-minute. DON’T MISS IT!

Moorage:
Moorage is available at the public dock at Jerisich Park (below the large U.S. Flag). A limited number of berths are available at Peninsula Yacht Basin, Arabella’s Landing, Murphy’s Landing Marina and other marinas in Gig Harbor.
